A study on career preference after graduation of university students majoring in physical therapy according to gender and grade

Abstract
Background : this study is for the provision of basic information on career searc h and career guidance for the students whose major is physiotherapy through sur vey and analysis of career preference related to gender and grades
Methods : 900 students majoring in physiotherapy from 16 collegs and univ. amo ng total 77 college and university in korea responded the survey and 738 of 900 were used for this study. for the statistic analysis of the survey, freqency analy sis and ¥ö2 test were conducted using Window SPSS 17.0

Results : The result of this study is that career preference was different according to gender. Although, both male and female preferred Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therap y the most, male respondants preferred Sports Physical Therapy and female responda nts preferred Neurologic Physical Therapy in second place. Second, it had slightly sig nificance in interesting subject of Physiotherapy by grade.

Conclusion : In conclusion, school life and gender influence to career preference.
